Residence Hall Move-In Day
Students residing in the residence halls for spring 2015 will receive an email in late December with spring move-in details. Students may move into the residence halls beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Come join Unit 1 in a Karaoke competition and enjoy a movie and pizza in the courtyard.
Thursday, January 15
Makeup CalSO 8AM-5PM | Crossroads Plaza
This is a special one-day orientation program for first-year and transfer students, and their parents and guests, who are not able to attend a program in November. CalSO is the best introduction to UC Berkeley for new students. At CalSO, students will begin to navigate their new campus, meet fellow new students and current student CalSO Leaders, learn about important UC Berkeley requirements, traditions, campus resources, and culture. New Student Community Meetings & Social 7PM | See description for locations
Please attend the new student welcome meeting at your specific residence hall unit to receive important information regarding living in the residence halls, a chance to meet the staff, and socialize with other new students. After the meeting will be a social and fun activities! (Mandatory meeting for all residential students). Unit 2 will be located in the APR. Unit 3, Max Martinez, and apartments will be located at the Unit 3 APR. Unit 4 will be located in the Foothill Assembly Room. Clark Kerr Campus will be located in Building 8 Main Lounge.
Friday, January 16
New Student Convocation 10AM-11AM | Wheeler Auditorium
The official university welcome by Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Claude Steele and other esteemed speakers. All new undergraduate students are encouraged to come celebrate the beginning of a new journey at UC Berkeley.
Lunch 12PM-1PM | Crossroads
Mix and mingle with fellow new students and CalSO leaders. All students must pick up their meal ticket at New Student Convocation prior to lunch.
Bear Pact (Mandatory) 1:30PM-3PM | Wheeler Auditorium
This mandatory presentation will teach you about important issues faced by college students: sexual assault and harassment, mental health, and alcohol use. Learn about the many ways you can maintain a balanced lifestyle and the resources on campus that can help you in this pursuit. You will also gain strategies to take care of friends, classmates, and roommates. The Bear Pact presentation supports students in meeting the Violence Prevention Education Requirement. Students must bring their Cal 1 Card and a pen.
Unit 3 S'Mores and Movie Night 7PM | Unit 3 Fire Pits/APR
Come on down for s'mores and a movie! Grab a friend, bring your appetite, and enjoy some crunchy, chocolatey, sticky goodness while building new connections with your neighbors!

Sign up to attend the Fiat Lux New Student Retreat! Fiat Lux is the University's motto and it translates to "Let there be light." This retreat is designed to welcome you to UC Berkeley and connect you with other students - in essence, to help you make your UC Berkeley experience shine brightly! At the retreat, you'll have the chance to connect with other Spring Admits, get to know some first year and transfer students, and figure out what is your leadership color (are you blue, green, orange, or gold). All this because you attended the Fiat Lux New Student Retreat so sign up today.

Take a trip to San Francisco’s most popular tourist attraction. Join other new students and some current students in a tour of the infamous Alcatraz. Tour tickets and transportation are provided for free. Participants should bring money for food. DIY Crafts/Spruce Up Your Room Extravaganza 1PM-4PM | Foothill Assembly Room
Ring in the new semester with some awesome decorations and stuff for you and your room! We have loads of supplies for you to be creative and accomplish all your DIY desires. It’ll be a pinterest wonderland. Make a new cork bulletin board, pennant banner, hollowed out book, photo clothespin line, whatever your heart desires
Unit 2 Spring Fest 8PM | Unit 2 Courtyard
Join unit 2 in celebrating the spring semester with fun and games! Activities include: tie dye, flower pot decorating, facepainting, photobooth, raffle prizes, & lots of snacks and fun!

An Evening with Natasha Leggero 8:30PM | Anna Head Hall
Natasha Leggero, actress, writer, and accomplished stand-up, will be performing a stand-up comedy show at UC Berkeley in the Anna Head Alumnae Hall on Jan. 24, 2015 at 8:30 PM, followed by a brief meet and greet. Known for her sharp humor and skillful satire, Leggero starred in the Emmy nominated series Burning Love, was recently on The Comedy Central Roast of James Franco, and can be seen regularly on The Tonight Show and the Chelsea Lately roundtable. She's also appeared in TV shows such as Community, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Arrested Development, Reno 911, and Key & Peele. Her movie appearances include Neighbors, He's Just Not That Into You, and Let's Be Cops.
